ServerWatch ICQ Bot ReadMe/FAQ

Hi,
This is a short description about the new feature of ServerWatch – the connectivity to ICQ.
I know that a lot of users are used to msn but for now I don’t have the possibility to connect to that network.

How it works ?

The ServerWatch will have is own UIN (ICQ Account) so you can talk to it as you talk to a normal user.

What can that Bot do?

That can bot can be used to control the Server and also to stay in contact with the users playing on it. How that works ? A player in the Server can send a chat message named !needadmin and then all admins in the contact list of ServerWatch what are marked as that they handle that need admin requests get a message about that fact and can create a chat session to that user by sending !accept to the ICQ bot. If the user write something in the server the admin will also see it in the ICQ and if the admin write something to the ServerWatch ICQ bot it also get send to the player (it use the cod tell function per default what can be disabled). If the chat is over the admin can close the session by sending !close to the bot.

The bot also can handle some more commands like !chat, and !rcon.
With !chat you open a general chat session with the server and all what you type is send to the server and all what users talk in the server is send to you (the admin that opened the session). If you are done you can do a !closechat and that session stops.
The !rcon command can be used to send rcon commands to the server just with sending !rcon <command> to the server.
All this stuff need privileges what can be set up different for every single UIN that is registered in ServerWatch Server at the ICQ Setup.

The ICQ bot also reconnects every day per default but you can setup that in the ini file.
You can setup a sample trigger setup here: http://serverwatch.daniel-rudolph.de/download/ICQ.zip

A known problem is that if there are to many messages coming from a user or to many messages get send from the ICQ bot to users that messages get lost. That is a problem of the ICQ network that I can not really solve that easy.

Now all what I have to do is which you a lot of fun with that new ServerWatch feature. If you have problems you can report that to BUGS.
